Addressing Hypertension at Work: A Call to Action for Employers

July 23 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Hypertension is a known risk factor for heart disease and stroke, and it is preventable and controllable. However, 1 in 3 working-age adults in the United States has hypertension, and direct costs for workers with hypertension are nearly 50% higher than for workers without hypertension. Yet, many employers have not implemented strategies that directly address blood pressure control and prevention.

This webinar, supported by the CDC Foundation, will answer the following questions:
– Why should employers implement a hypertension initiative?
– What tools are available to help employers assess the impact of hypertension on health and cost outcomes for their workforce?
– Once employers recognize the need, how can they address hypertension through lifestyle support programs and health benefits?

The speakers for this one-hour program will include:
– Michele Bildner, Project Manager, CDC Foundation Non-Infectious Disease Programs
– Kyi-Sin Than, Senior Director, FTI Consulting, Center for Healthcare Economics and Policy
– Neil Goldfarb, President and CEO, Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health

Attendees will be provided links to key resources and supports following the program.

This program is being offered in partnership with the Health & Wellness Coalition of Wichita.
